Grant Writing
This project was a fun challenge that showcases my attention to detail and creativity. I partnered with a local non-profit, Second Hand Heroes, to help them secure funding from the Jefferson Foundation for a community garden project. Here you will find the Proposal Letter, Grant Application, and Proposed Budget for the project.
Editing
This was an editing project for a local small business, Grind Coffee Company. They allowed me to help them edit their documents. I made adjustments to the logo, so that it is consistent throughout documents. I also completed general grammar and usage edits to improve the professionalism of the documents throughout.
Menu Development
I was nominated for the Celebration of Student Writing at Indiana University East for this menu brochure I edited and designed for Grind Coffee Company. I worked on ensuring that there were consistent titles throughout the menu. I also limited the information on the back of the menu, creating much needed white space. I resized the pricing of the items, so that the price was not larger font than the item being sold. This was a very challenging and rewarding project, due to the large amount of menu items.
Writing Samples
For this project, we were instructed to create an article for a website. I chose the topic of Grocery Shopping Tips and came up with some ideas and links on how to shop more mindfully.
Manuals
This instructional manual was created in collaboration with Grind Coffee Company. It is for a TurboChef oven that was refurbished secondhand and had no manual when purchased. The instructional drawings are my own work. This project taught me how to create a manual, but also allowed my creativity to shine through.
Graphic Design
These are infographics I have created throughout my time at Indiana University East, and showcase some of my best work.
